In this book, you will get to know Juju, a girl who has lived with type I diabetes since she was a young child. Juju was raised to embrace the idea of being different, taking pride in her choice to enjoy life in a positive and spirited way, while creating a colorful and joyful world for herself and those around her. Her story offers a vital message: that if we cultivate the sheer joy of living in our everyday, it will always prevail in the face of challenges we may face along life’s journey. All proceeds from this book will be donated to the Associação de Diabetes Juvenil (ADJ) which provides free education, access to treatment, new technologies, and social support to thousands of children and young people living with type I diabetes in vulnerable communities. The ADJ’s mission is to support children, adolescents, and their families through specialised, interdisciplinary treatment, thereby promoting education and information, as well as access to resources for a health coexistence with diabetes.
